Bothell - Edmonds - Kenmore - Mukilteo
In the North Seattle region, total sales have steadily increased from first half 2014 to first half 2016 with 26, 39 and 51 total units sold each year, respectively. Days on market have decreased dramatically, as much as 76% since 2014 (Bothell). Average sales prices are lower the further you move from Downtown Seattle and with plenty of waterfront opportunities available, these areas are attractive to those wishing to escape the grit and grind of the city’s center.
The average sales price in Bothell is $478,783 and $571,914 in Kenmore, with both areas selling, on average, above the list price. The prices are attractive, especially for people moving from out-of-state who work in Seattle and can get something on the water for “only” $500,000. Waterfront homes in Mukilteo and Edmonds cost a bit more (by about $200,000-$300,000) but with Sound frontage rather than the shores of Lake Washington. Given the abundant opportunities that living on the ocean offers, Mukilteo and Edmonds are also typically anywhere from $200 to $1,000 more per square foot.
